The Brampton Arts Council is proud to be on the Art of Jazz Committee, bringing The Brampton Global Jazz & Blues Festival to our City. Art of Jazz will transform downtown Brampton into a hotbed of rhythm, improvisation, harmony and sophistication. With 4 days of major concerts, themed program, workshops, jam sessions, film debuts and more, this unique community celebration will be a meeting point for international jazz greats and music lovers alike. NEW! - KIDS BLUES JAM
This show features up and coming youth blues artists performing with the seasoned back-up band of Mark Bird Stafford. Potential performers should contact Mark at birdstafford@sympatico.ca to be considered to perform their songs with the band. It is open to all ages, with a focus on ages 12 to 18. No rehearsal, just “off the cuff”. This is a great performance opportunity for kids with the support of a pro back-up band on a professional stage. Audiences will be astonished by the amount of talent that is in the community. Saturday, August 13 & Sunday, August 14, 2011, 1:00 pm, FREE!
