Call for local talent to participate in the Brampton Global Jazz & Blues Festival

The Brampton Arts Council is proud to be on the Art of Jazz Committee, bringing The Brampton Global Jazz & Blues Festival to our City. Art of Jazz will transform downtown Brampton into a hotbed of rhythm, improvisation, harmony and sophistication. With 4 days of major concerts, themed program, workshops, jam sessions, film debuts and more, this unique community celebration will be a meeting point for international jazz greats and music lovers alike. The Festival will be presented August 11th to 14th inclusive. We want the community to become involved in the activities! Read the call below and contact jazz@artofjazz.org to find out more.

NEW! - KIDS BLUES JAM
This show features up and coming youth blues artists performing with the seasoned back-up band of Mark Bird Stafford. Potential performers should contact Mark at birdstafford@sympatico.ca to be considered to perform their songs with the band. It is open to all ages, with a focus on ages 12 to 18. No rehearsal, just “off the cuff”. This is a great performance opportunity for kids with the support of a pro back-up band on a professional stage. Audiences will be astonished by the amount of talent that is in the community. Saturday, August 13 & Sunday, August 14, 2011, 1:00 pm, FREE!
