Bravo! Awards 2013 Kudos

ART IN THE OPEN CALL FOR ARTISTS/ARTISANS

Deadline: May 22, 2012. CALL FOR ARTISTS/ARTISANS. The Brampton Arts Council is calling for artists and artisans at our annual outdoor show and market Art in the Open, a feature of the local Farmers’ Market. PART-TIME and FULL-TIME vendor positions are available for creators of hand-crafted, original works. Art in the Open takes place every Saturday, 7 am – 1 pm in downtown Brampton on the north-east corner of Main & Queen from June to October. Schmoozefest II

February 23, 2012, 5 – 7 pm. SCHMOOZEFEST II at the Brampton Golf Club. A members networking event! A follow-up to the first very successful Schmoozefest held last May, where all members (groups & individuals) can come and let others know what is new with them. The format includes 2 minute time slots to get up and speak to everyone from the podium. Only 15 time slots available. No charge to attend or present. Light refreshments will be served. To sign-up for a presentation, please complete and return this linked form by February 9, to the office. If you are not presenting it is a good opportunity to chat with your fellow artists. To RSVP your attendance to the event, please advise the office by February 16.

Now living in Toronto, she has not only acquired a national reputation as one of the best singers in the country, but an international one as well. Learn about her experiences in “Cindy Church, a musical journey”. Also meet and listen to Ted Outerbridge’s struggles as a performing musician in “29 Years of Survival – Magically”. Call for local talent to participate in the Brampton Global Jazz & Blues Festival

The Brampton Arts Council is proud to be on the Art of Jazz Committee, bringing The Brampton Global Jazz & Blues Festival to our City. Art of Jazz will transform downtown Brampton into a hotbed of rhythm, improvisation, harmony and sophistication. With 4 days of major concerts, themed program, workshops, jam sessions, film debuts and more, this unique community celebration will be a meeting point for international jazz greats and music lovers alike. The Festival will be presented August 11th to 14th inclusive. We want the community to become involved in the activities! Read the call below and contact jazz@artofjazz.org to find out more.

Do you want to show and sell your one-of-a-kind-creations to the captive crowds that Art of Jazz will draw in? “Recipe for a Good Life” by Paulette Murphy & Dawn Friesen is a collection of recipes using ingredients believed to fight cancer. The healthy food choices are beautifully illustrated with images of original artwork. All recipes and images were contributed by a community of caring friends. It's truly amazing how potluck works so well. Everyone brings a little something to the table and then receives a little something in return. In the spirit of potluck, many individuals have brought their offerings to this book in the hope of helping others enjoy a good life. The recipes in this collection have been donated by professional chefs and amateur enthusiasts alike. The original artwork, depicting healthy foods, has all been donated by fine artists. "Art in the Open" call for artists and artisans

The BAC is calling for artists and artisans to participate in our annual artist event “Art in the Open” featured at the Brampton Farmers’ Market.

AitO allows Brampton’s visitors and residents access and exposure to original, hand crafted works of art. Artists and artisans providing this service make our event an authentic community and cultural experience. Art in the Open begins every Saturday 7am-1pm - rain or shine - from June 18th to October 8th, 2011.
