BAC Snap'd all over Brampton!

Snapd also covered our recognition of corporate donors and sponsors at the Mayor's Luncheon for the Arts. The theme? Rule, Brittania! Good british music and food was enjoyed by all. Recipents for the Harry Dale Literary Grant, Leon Argamasilla Bacardi Award of Excellence and Arts Person of the Year were also announced. CALL FOR YOUTH FILM-MAKERS & DOCUMENTARIANS

EAST is calling for youth between the ages of 15 to 19 who are interested in videography for the EAST Documentary Collective!

Presented by Scarborough Arts, EAST is a project creating a buzz and attracting attention from aspiring young musicians, new media journalists and youth interested in getting into the arts and entertainment industry. EAST is made up of three components: Project Management Collective, Music Collective and Documentary Collective.

EAST Documentary Collective is a collaborative project where members will learn how to use a DSLR
camera for videography, storyboard, and shoot and edit documentaries and music videos. The EAST Documentary Collective will be covering topics involved in the pre-production, production and post-production of film-making. Basic equipment is provided. The new collective commences in April 2013 and will run until August 2013.

CARFAC initiative

CARFAC Ontario is providing leadership on Strengthening the Sector: Resources and Best Practices for the Visual, Media and Craft-Based Arts Sector, a multi-year project focused on researching and developing resources and tools for the visual, media and craft-based arts sector. The following goals guide the project:

1. Establishing industry standards in the visual, media and craft-based arts sector
2. Building relationships and trust across the sectors among all stakeholders
3. Supporting professionalization across the sector
4. Developing a basis for the development of policy and legislative initiatives that are to the long-term benefit of the sector

CALL FOR ARTISTS: Brampton Indie Arts Festival

Dear Emerging Artists,

The City of Brampton is now accepting submissions from artists for potential programming opportunities.

For an example of an upcoming event, please see below.

If you are an artist from any of the following disciplines:

-          Performing (theatre, opera, dance etc.)
-          Music (singer, songwriter, performer etc.)
-          Visual (painting, sculpting etc.)
-          Ethnic/Cultural (language, folk culture etc.)
-          Media Arts (publishing, radio, television, films, videos, photography etc.)
-          Literary (creative writing, poetry, poetry, prose etc.)

We would like to hear from you.
