RENTAL SPACE AVAILABLE

RENTAL SPACE AVAILABLE. Grace Place Community Resource Centre has approached the Brampton Arts Council with the possibility of renting some of their space at the Grace United Church on 156 Main St N in downtown Brampton.

Available:

Fellowship Hall, is approximately 2,500 sq f. with a tiled floor. It has a stage attached, as well as an industrial kitchen.  The stage does not have an additional storage area attached to it.  In the fall, the stage will be unavailable for a short period of time, while reconstruction work takes place in an area adjacent to it.  Planned to be air conditioned by summer 2013.

Reception Room is approximately 1,200 sq. ft., air conditioned, second floor room, with natural light and an attached kitchen and washroom.

Rainbow Room is approximately 720 sq.. ft., second floor room.  At present it has a double height ceiling.  New flooring planned to be installed by Fall 2012.  Air conditioning by summer 2013.

Hearth Room is approximately 640 sq. ft, second floor room.  Natural light on two sides.  New flooring planned to be installed by Fall 2012.  Air conditioning y summer 2013.

Spark Box Studio's Winter Residency & Emerging Artist Award

2013 Winter ResidencySpark Box Studio's 2013 Winter Residency Open Call is now accepting applications from national and international artists at all stages of their career. Each year we are excited to invite a new group of artists into our space. Here artists will be given the time and space to network, research, experiment and built their artist practices. Focusing on your art career at a quiet, self-directed residency is a great experience and what better place to do it than surrounded by the rural Ontario countryside.

Emerging Artist Award:
Beginning your career as an emerging artist can be tough, which is why Spark Box Studio is offering FREE RESIDENCIES to fine art students and emerging artists. This residency opportunity is a unique way for young and emerging artists to cultivate new ideas, access a rich library of arts resources, learn about career-building opportunities, and develop an understanding of the art world from a business perspective.
Six emerging artists will receive a one-week (7 days) residency at our studio in Prince Edward County. The selected applicants will be given a private studio space and given access to the Spark Box Studio equipment and resources, as well, winners will be provided with living accommodations for their week-long stay. They will also have access to career guidance from owners Chrissy Poitras and Kyle Topping, along with, local community members.

The winter residency award runs from February 1, 2013 to April 30, 2013. Please be advised that the award is for 7 consecutive days.

Applying for the Residency Award gives artists the opportunity to practice an essential business skill in the art world: the application process.
